Delete your account

You can delete your Zero Debate account and its data at any time. No form to beg through, no retention offer. Here is exactly how, and exactly what happens.

Delete it from the app

The fastest route, and the one we recommend:

Open Zero Debate and go to the You tab.
Tap Settings.
Tap Delete account and confirm.

That immediately schedules the deletion — you do not need to email anyone or wait for us to approve it.

Can't get into the app?

If you have lost access to your phone number or Google account, email contact@zerodebate.com from the email address on your account, or tell us the phone number or username you signed up with, and ask us to delete the account.

We will verify that the request genuinely comes from the account owner before we erase anything — otherwise anyone could delete your account by guessing your username. Expect a reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What happens, and when

When	What happens
Immediately	Push notification tokens are deleted and every active session is revoked. Notifications stop at once.
For 30 days	A grace period. Nothing has been erased yet — email contact@zerodebate.com within those 30 days and we will restore the account.
After 30 days	The account is permanently anonymised. This is irreversible.

What is permanently erased

Your phone number, email address and Google account identifier.
Your name, username, bio, profile photo, occupation and education.
Your political preference, topic interests and language preferences.
Your notification settings and push tokens.
Your swipe history, notifications, follows and blocks.

Your username is replaced with an anonymous placeholder.

What stays, and why

The text of your debate turns remains — along with votes, reactions, chat messages, comments and AI scorecards — attributed to an anonymous deleted account rather than to you.

A debate is a shared record. Someone else argued the other side and an audience voted on the result. Erasing one side would destroy the other person's record of their own debate, so we anonymise instead of deleting. Please write with that in mind.

We also keep moderation records where we need them to keep the Service safe — for example so that a banned account cannot simply be recreated.

If a specific thing you wrote needs to come down — say it contains personal information you did not mean to publish — email contact@zerodebate.com and we will deal with it individually rather than making you delete your whole account.
